The Simfile

Egad! An update!

I have been busy with millions of things recently, but during a bout of inspiration, I finally found time to update The Tragedy of Lilith B. Pleasant. If anyone was interested in my writing in general, much of my time has been devoted to my fanfiction novel Flight. People seem to like it, so take a look if you have a moment.

With as little time as I have put toward this site, I have been playing the sims alot. Houses are my new fervor, so probably by the end of the month I will be adding at least two of them to my craptastic recolours.

Pics, Stories and Downloads

Having just discovered some of the "ins" and "outs" of in game photography, I will be adding some much better screenshots in future and adding my legacy stories from there.

I have been working on my first real sim story: The Tragedy of Lilith B. Pleasant. When working on it, I realized that "Jaquawn's Story" was pretty bad and I will return to it, calling it "Life as a Harrison" at a later date once Lilith is done.

I will be adding another house and another slew of recolours probably in another few weeks, so check back soon! :)

The Simfile Newsletter + Dorienne Smith.com

The Simfile Newsletter is now a part of Dorienne Smith.com and the new name is simply The Simfile, as I have been struggling with the "newsletter" part of the name. The Simfile is bigger, badder and more beautiful than the old site and best of all, it is ad-free!

What's New
  • "Jaquawn's Story" has been added to Sim Stories. The "West Legacy" and the "Michaels Legacy" will be added soon.
  • I have added information and reviews over the original game, the expansions and the stuff packs in its own section: "Expansions."
  • And, I added more screen shots, a few more downloads and links to other great simming sites.

What is The Sims 2?

The Sims 2 is the sequel game to one of the best-selling games of all time, The Sims. Players can direct the lives of their sims over the course of a lifetime, from birth 'til the end. Sims can be created with individual facial characteristics including ranging eye, skin and hair colors and the ability to shape sims' faces to any look. Sims can meet one another, date, marry, have little sims and watch them grow. When the time comes, the Grim Reaper will come and take off an elder sim to the great beyond, however sims can also "move on" from getting the flu, electric shocks, fires, or falling satellites!

In The Sims 2, players can help their sims achieve their different aspirations by fulfilling their wants or lead them to destruction through realizing their fears. Sims can still get jobs and climb the various vocational ladders and now, sims have memories that can make them randomly happy or randomly depressed at any moment. Houses can be taken to new heights...literally, with the ability to create homes with multiple stories and split-level houses too!

Players can also tell stories like in The Sims, however instead of just using snapshots taken throughout the game to tell stories, players can make stunning videos inside the game and create their own comedies or dramas.

With The Sims, player-created custom content, became a large part of the game. With The Sims 2, the game has been built around the idea of custom content. Specific icons are available to differentiate custome-content from packaged-game content, and numerous online communities have developed around custom content. All in all, The Sims 2 is one of the most exciting games in the gaming world.
