New House on Delancey Way

Added 11 Delancey Way to Lots. 19 Delancey Way is coming soon and then I'll be re-working The Windsor since I now have all EPs and SPs. I've been looking at a lot of floor plans lately and have some great ideas for homes that will get added as soon as they are completed. After that, some new hair textures are coming as well as new objects as I've come to understand some of the inner workings of meshing objects.

I've also been recreating some of the images of for my West Family legacy, so once I get a few ages to my liking, their legacy will be added. As I work to finish my novel, dozens of other story ideas are coming to mind, including several Sim stories, so keep an eye out for those in the near future.

Updates!

I've updated with some outfit recolours and a hair retexture. I did these some time ago, but I figure now is better than never.

I've also decided to renew some of the focus here a bit. The focus of my entire site has shifted and with realizing that The Sims 3 will never be a game for me, I've realized that I still have lots to do with my game including more storytelling and creating. Though, I've never had a lot of things to include here, this should change in the coming year.

New hair retexture

I'm slowly getting around to uploading some retextures I've done over the last year. I've got one up right now, a retexture of an older Peggy Sims mesh. While doing this, I realize just how out of practice I am to designing/coding and I've definitely forgotten all that goes into adding a download, i.e., retexturing, renaming files, finding the corresponding mesh, taking the pictures, photoshopping where necessary, editing the page code and so forth. Yeesh...

Delancey Way Updates

I was FINALLY able to get some homes added on Modthesims.info: 12 Delancey Way and 15 Delancey Way. I had added the 12 Delancey Way lot back in May, but since I made some big changes to it to help it pass muster at MTS, I updated the changes here as well. The 15 Delancey Way is a newer lot I made to make sure I did not have a sophomore slump at MTS that I have finally added here as well. 15 Delancey is available both furnished and unfurnished; also I am kaitco on MTS.

New homes

I created some new homes a while ago, but have just recently added them. Two are under 20,000 and all three need require only Nightlife. Greatest thanks to Numenor and the AnyGameStarter without which, I would only be able to create lots that require all my expansions.

I've learned to retexture!

As the title suggests, I've recently learned how to properly retexture meshes and I've been retexturing myself silly in the past few months. It's only been with this last retexture, however, that I've created something that took some real effort and was truly different from the original textures, hence the update.

Check out my retexture of Coolsims #16 using Pooklet's textures. It's one of his older meshes, but I liked it a lot and wanted a better looking texture for it. You will need the mesh from his site, but don't fret: it's naturally free.

Lots of Changes

I have made a lot of changes to the main site and also to this part of it. I have added a bunch more downloads and have loads more coming. I'll admit they are not the absolute best works out there, but it takes time to make quality works and since the The Sims 2 community is slowing down, I'm going to keep working on better projects.

Also forthcoming are more stories and the continuation of The Tragedy of Lilith B. Pleasant. I've been writing non-stop lately and as a "break" to my main projects, I can combine both my love of writing and the Sims in one swoop with Sims stories.

Egad! An update!

I have been busy with millions of things recently, but during a bout of inspiration, I finally found time to update The Tragedy of Lilith B. Pleasant. If anyone was interested in my writing in general, much of my time has been devoted to my fanfiction novel Flight. People seem to like it, so take a look if you have a moment.

With as little time as I have put toward this site, I have been playing the sims alot. Houses are my new fervor, so probably by the end of the month I will be adding at least two of them to my craptastic recolours.

Pics, Stories and Downloads

Having just discovered some of the "ins" and "outs" of in game photography, I will be adding some much better screenshots in future and adding my legacy stories from there.

I have been working on my first real sim story: The Tragedy of Lilith B. Pleasant. When working on it, I realized that "Jaquawn's Story" was pretty bad and I will return to it, calling it "Life as a Harrison" at a later date once Lilith is done.

I will be adding another house and another slew of recolours probably in another few weeks, so check back soon! :)

The Simfile Newsletter + Dorienne Smith.com

The Simfile Newsletter is now a part of Dorienne Smith.com and the new name is simply The Simfile, as I have been struggling with the "newsletter" part of the name. The Simfile is bigger, badder and more beautiful than the old site and best of all, it is ad-free!

What's New
  • "Jaquawn's Story" has been added to Sim Stories. The "West Legacy" and the "Michaels Legacy" will be added soon.
  • I have added information and reviews over the original game, the expansions and the stuff packs in its own section: "Expansions."
  • And, I added more screen shots, a few more downloads and links to other great simming sites.

What is The Sims 2?

The Sims 2 is the sequel game to one of the best-selling games of all time, The Sims. Players can direct the lives of their sims over the course of a lifetime, from birth 'til the end. Sims can be created with individual facial characteristics including ranging eye, skin and hair colors and the ability to shape sims' faces to any look. Sims can meet one another, date, marry, have little sims and watch them grow. When the time comes, the Grim Reaper will come and take off an elder sim to the great beyond, however sims can also "move on" from getting the flu, electric shocks, fires, or falling satellites!

In The Sims 2, players can help their sims achieve their different aspirations by fulfilling their wants or lead them to destruction through realizing their fears. Sims can still get jobs and climb the various vocational ladders and now, sims have memories that can make them randomly happy or randomly depressed at any moment. Houses can be taken to new heights...literally, with the ability to create homes with multiple stories and split-level houses too!

Players can also tell stories like in The Sims, however instead of just using snapshots taken throughout the game to tell stories, players can make stunning videos inside the game and create their own comedies or dramas.

With The Sims, player-created custom content, became a large part of the game. With The Sims 2, the game has been built around the idea of custom content. Specific icons are available to differentiate custome-content from packaged-game content, and numerous online communities have developed around custom content. All in all, The Sims 2 is one of the most exciting games in the gaming world.
